BOTOX
Short Summary
Botulinum (Botox) is a neuromodulator medication that selectively relaxes the muscle fibers, smoothing out wrinkles and lending a fresh, rested look when performed properly, making it certainly one of the most effective treatments in aesthetic medicine. Dr Sultan has an absolute rule: relax, don't freeze: we design the final result with the patient, recommending which wrinkles to minimise and which should be left alone; some signs of time passing can give the face a tired or angry expression, while others make a face interesting and believable.

Additional information
-
Carefully administered, Botox® will provide:
A youthful and fresh appearance
Very swift results
In a minimally invasive way
Dr Sultan will always focus on allowing natural movement and expressions.
-
Wrinkles are caused by the contraction of facial muscles. During youth, as the muscles return to rest these disappear, however, as a result of the ageing process, these become present during rest. Botox® helps relieve this by relaxing the muscles and hence lessens the wrinkles.
-
In order to optimise the anti-wrinkle effects of Botox® treatments, a multimodal approach is preferred, both in the very early stages by means of prevention but also when established wrinkles are present.
We advocate skin health and as such, recommend a commitment to tailored skincare.
We also recommend regular facials. Furthermore, some clients both in the preventative phase and those with established wrinkles will benefit from dermal fillers, laser and/or skin tightening treatments.
During your consultation your doctor will discuss other potential treatments that may be of benefit to you.

Prior to arrival
A week before treatment stop all use of irritant topical products (Acids, Retinol, Vitamin C or scrubs)
If you are taking blood thinners, including NSAIDs such as Asprin or Ibuprofen, you should discuss with your doctor whether it is possible to discontinue their use throughout the course of your treatment.
On arrival
Dr Sultan will undertake an initial consultation to understand any of your concerns and to review your medical history, after which the treatment area will be photographed. He will advise you of your facial dynamics and the results that Botox® would likely achieve.
Once a treatment plan is agreed, he will administer the Botox®, after which there will be a number of small red bumps at the injection sites. These bumps usually settle down within hours and within 24 hours, should not be visible.
Results
The effects of the treatment commence within 3-5 days and it is normal for it to take between 10-12 days for the full effect of the treatment to become visible.
We will arrange for a follow up video consultation 12-14 days following the treatment and, if required, we may suggest a complimentary top-up at this point.
Within 3-4 months of the treatment, we would expect the effects to be wearing off and recommend booking a return visit.
